Springtime Foraging on PEI
WOW: my March 29 foraging talk had a sold-out crowd of 60 people! In partnership with Agora, my next event is set for April 19, 7:00-8:00pm (plus Q&A afterwards) at Carrefour de l’Isle-Saint-Jean (5 Acadian Drive, Charlottetown). You can register now, just click here.
Â
While the March talk was a general overview of some of PEI’s edible, medicinal, and poisonous plants through the seasons, the April session will focus on Spring. I’ll be highlighting some delicious, nutritious, and easy-to-find wild plants. I’ll include tips on finding them, identifying them, and telling them apart from toxic plants that grow in the same areas. As a bonus, I’ll share some of my favourite recipes and ways to prepare them!Â
Â
Starting in May, I’ll be offering monthly outdoor workshops for small groups (15 people max), where we’ll find, identify, and taste plants in the field. You can find my current schedule on my website (PEI-untamed), and it will be updated as events are added. Â
Hope to see you there!Â
