I'm excited to have PEI geologist Laura MacNeil as a guest speaker! Laura is founder of Prehistoric Island Tours - PEI's one-of-a-kind immersive experience into our geological history (https://www.prehistoricislandtours.ca/).
Travel back in time 290 million years into the ancient past! Laura MacNeil will take you back to the Permian Period through this introduction to our Island’s geologic and paleontologic histories recorded in our red sandstone cliffs. We will also dive deep into recent fossil discoveries that are re-writing what we currently know about the global Permian Period fossil record. Immerse yourself in an unbelievable story 60 million years older than the dinosaurs, of which our Island’s rocks gradually reveal an inch of erosion at a time!
