About the event

A full solar eclipse is a once-in-a-lifetime event, and western PEI will be in the path of totality.   North Cape is not only an ideal spot to watch the eclipse, it's also one of the most interesting natural areas on PEI.  Join me ahead of the main event for a 3km hike along the North Cape trail to learn about the unique ecology of the area; we'll also identify wildlife tracks and sign if conditions allow.  Bring a chair and dress for the weather so you're comfortable as we watch the eclipse, beginning at 3:30 pm.  Important: ISO-certified eclipse glass are mandatory. I have a limited number of certified glasses available.

This event is fully weather dependent and is subject to cancellation right up until the day.  I'm also expecting this to be a popular spot for eclipse-watchers, so plan to come early and be prepared for traffic afterwards. It will be worth it!

This event is now sold out! You can be added to the waiting list by emailing kate.macquarrie22@gmail.com; please be sure to indicate whether you need viewing glasses. Cost is $40/person if you already have your glasses and $45/person if you want to buy a pair from me. Registration is limited to a maximum of 20 people. Specific meeting location and further details will be provided in a confirmation email. Hope to see you there!
